I went to medical today. It… was not fun. Tri-Care was the first thing of the list and it took lest than five minutes. They told us that there isn't an emergency room on base, so if anything happens call some number and go into town. Otherwise, wait until the medical building opens.
Then we had to go to Immunizations. They check to see if you have all your shots up to date, draw your blood, and then give you more shots. If you have a shot record, bring it! I didn't, so I had to get a Hep A shot and a flu shot. I don't like needles, so this was the bad part of the day.
Next we went to have our hearing checked. They place you in a little sound proof box and make you press a button when you hear anything. The only problem is, the tones are super faint and high pitched. It so quiet in the room that I had to told my breath just to hear them. It took about 8 minutes to complete the test.
Finally we had our “foot prints” taken. The woman said that if you're ever burned, your feet are usually the last things to go. That was interesting.
That took until about 1100. We went into town and got some lunch, now were back in our rooms just relaxing. There's not much more we can do until we get our apartments and our permanent addresses.
