This tool allows you to input the three properties of nominals (Altitude, True Airspeed, and Bank Angle) and see the effect it will have on the trainable box of the 105mm projected onto the ground. This will allow you to get into the ballpark of the best nominals for a given mission.
I don't have the drag curve for the 30mm… yet. Once I do, I'll be able to superimpose both trainable boxes.
This tool is does not 100% replicate the gun weapon control system. I don't have access to that code. The major difference is this model does not simulate the longitudinal spinning of the round imparted by the riffling. Also, there is currently no correction for the deck angle of the plane (I have the code in place, I'm just not sure it really changes the tool that much). This model does iterate a drag compensated bullet through an temperature and pressure corrected altitude in .01 second intervals. The red spheres in the 3d window display these calculations. The blue cube is the center of the orbit.
